Introducing SimCap v1.3 with iPad Simulator Support

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve just released version 1.3 of SimCap, our iPhone Simulator screenshot and video capture tool. The headline new feature in this release is support for the iPad Simulator introduced with the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta. Also included are a new lossless quality setting for video; scale and rotate options; and a ‘deferred preview’ window.

You can get SimCap though the in-app automatic update feature, or read more about it and download a copy form the product page.

It’s unlikely to have escaped your attention that Apple today announced the iPad, along with the availability of the iPhone SDK 3.2 beta. We are currently reviewing the new version of the iPhone Simulator, and will be releasing an update to SimCap within the next few weeks.

We’re very pleased to announce the immediate availability of SimCap, our first Mac OS X release. SimCap is a simple screen and video capture solution for iPhone developers working with the iPhone Simulator. It makes capturing screenshots and video demonstrations as easy as clicking a button.

SimCap is available for download as a 14-day trial. A licence costs $15. You can read more about SimCap — and, most importantly, download it — on its product page.

We’re really pleased to announce that Plaques, our latest iPhone application, is now available in the App Store.

Plaques is a guide to the more than 850 blue plaques affixed around London to commemorate people and places of particular historical significance. Their number has been added to for over 130 years, and now you’re able to explore them all from the palm of your hand.

We’re really happy to announce that the new version of Lexical (that’s 1.1 for those of you keeping count) has been released and is now available for download from the App Store.

New in this version is OpenFeint support, which will allow you to add your best scores to a global leaderboard and compare them against other Lexical players.

Preview: Luc Bernard’s ‘Orbs’

We’re very excited to be able to tell you about one of the project we’re currently working on. Orbs (working title) is a ‘match 3′ puzzle game conceived by legendary video game designer Luc Bernard. We’re unspeakably happy to have had the chance to work on this with Luc and his long-time collaborator, pixel artist Shane ‘BadassBill’ Gill.

As you can see from the screenshot here, Orbs features all of your favourite Luc Bernard characters — Angel, Mr Cuddles and Bambou — each of whom brings their own special style of play.

There are also four different game modes — classic, endless, score and puzzle. You’ll have to experiment with each of the characters to see which one gives you the edge under each mode. Sometimes you’ll want Angles plethora of power-ups and sometimes Bambou’s more sedate but higher scoring approach will win out.

Ah, those power-ups. You can look forward to getting hold of some unbelievable extras never before seen in a match 3 game. From stars to bombs to the mysterious blackholes, this game is packed with bonuses which will keep you coming back again and again.

If all this has made you eager to get your hands on Luc Bernard’s Orbs then don’t worry, you won’t have too long to wait. The game is very almost finished and should appear in the App Store in November.
